💼 Job responsibilities

In the role of transport manager, you will work with route planning, which means that you will load vehicles and plan the order in which temperature-controlled goods should be picked up or delivered to various customers to achieve maximum efficiency. As a transport manager, you will receive orders from customers, allocate driving orders to drivers, and be operationally responsible for planning and monitoring that the transports purchased by our customers flow as they should. In case of any disruptions in traffic, it is you as the transport manager who reroutes traffic, calls in replacement vehicles, etc. The role includes administrative work such as pricing, handling invoices, and other related administrative qualifications.

Currently, there are transport managers in Årsta, Sundsvall, Östersund, Umeå, and Luleå, where they have additional responsibility for all long-distance traffic in Sundsvall. This role will include long-distance transports. In Sundsvall, a total of 14 employees work in the office, of which 7 employees work with traffic planning and sit together in daily operations.

Working hours are from 07:00 to 16:00, and weekend work (Sundays) occurs every 4th week.

Your main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Plan long-distance transports between customers' main terminals and stores

  • Daily contact with carriers and customers

  • Ensure deliveries of goods

  • Price setting, handling invoices, and administration in various systems

🔍 Education, experience, and personal qualities

  • Completed high school education

  • Experience in the logistics industry is an advantage

  • Basic leadership training or experience in work management is an advantage

  • Fluent communication in Swedish, both spoken and written

  • Good data and system skills

To work as a transport manager, it is important that you can remain calm even in stressful situations, have integrity, and an ethical approach. You will have daily contact with external stakeholders and are not afraid to take the first step towards a conversation. Additionally, you have good communication skills and are skilled in digital tools and systems.

You are a person who takes great ownership of your tasks, ensures that the execution is good, and takes a lot of personal responsibility while independently driving your work forward. Although you will work independently, you will have a close relationship with your colleagues. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy collaborating, you rarely feel competition but are rather the one who steps up and supports your colleagues when needed.
